Every once in awhile, you witness something that makes you step back and take a real hard look at what you are doing....in every aspect of life. Marlene Bridges was, to my knowledge, the first to bring this story to the attention of this community. I heard about it originally from a young man and friend I work with by the name of Geoff Fritz. Greatness, like inspiration, is an awe-inspiring and somewhat relative terminology to use when defining anything. Until, of course, you look it in its very eyes. Then, is when you step back and wonder....could I ever be what I dreamed I could become?
Sometimes this so-called greatness & inspiration is thrust upon you. Maybe you've even been born into it. Perhaps, it found you by accident, or you, it. And in some cases, that dream was led by you and fueled by so many others around you that helped your persistence to refuse to let it go. No matter the particular situation or circumstance, with all the bad that goes on in every aspect of life as we know it...it's nice to see something like this.
The Face of a Peasant, The Voice of a God.
I hate reality shows as I've always thought if it is on television, it's fake in some regard. Reality Shows are the ultimate oxymoron, or at least pre-conceived and thought out. Then, I saw this. My first reaction was, "Damn, that is great T.V." Unfortunately for yours truly, I haven't stopped watching it since. It is a rare occassion that I cry or have the hairs on my arms rise up because I see something so extraordinary that life seems so freaking fantastic. Mr. Paul helped do that. My cynical self thought that this was an inspired and creative storyline that was ingenious, but not live reality as we live it and believe it to be at the hands of "Reality T.V." Regardless, every Damn day I have listened to this since. It makes me weep with joy, my soul stand on end. Whether this is one of the more clever ruses on television, or one of those moments in life you'd have a hard time replacing, I have a new hero. And it's not Simon, it's Paul!

Thanks for sharing this info with us. Keep posting !
Hi Jason,
Wasn't this a wonderful story shared by Marlene?
A treasure is uneartheed and the world weeps with joy! I thought it was wonderful. You did good and you opened yourself up as being truly a man, for only a real man can cry. The preteneders don't get it. Your soul is you and you are what was revealed. Good for you Jason. I am proud to hear the voice of your soul, for it is music to our ears.
William
Very nice tribute to Mr. Paul! I think we all feel like winners when a deserving underdog does well.
Your topic struck me funny in another way, because just yesterday another Rainer sent me a link to a different guy on the same show!! Geez, if those two are in competition ... I'm missing a really great show! When does this come on??
I just viewed this for the first time. I was blown away!!!!! This is what's so special about this experience called life.
WE MUST FIND OUR MUSIC AND SING IT TOO THE WORLD! Everyone has a unique gift to offer the world. The challenge is having the courage to discover it.
Nalliah - I will do just that.
Hey Lynda - Yes it was, I was so happy to have found out!
William - Always nice & endearing words...thank you.
Rich - No doubt Rich. His pipes are unreal!
Sarah - I have no clue when it comes on, as I don't follow any of the reality shows. But this was off the charts....
Todd - Your reaction was probably something similiar to mine.
Paul - Thanks!
Hey Jason,
I think and it's just my opinion, that was amazing it feels good to see something good happen for someone it is uplifting, i don't know what else to say maybe i'm a softy.
Great, Great, post, it mad me a little happier seeing it.
Thank you Jason
Tom
Jason.... yes, I think this was great. The first I saw of this was about a week ago, someone did a blog on this. But I agree with you overall, I can't stand the Reality shows.... for the most part, as you stated, it's planned out. They are just trying to make extra money. The home improvement shows crack me up the most. It's not reality.
In any case, well written and nice tribute to Paul. And I loved the song at the end by Rod Stewart.
Thanks Jeff and I'm with you on Reality Shows.
Just a FYI, I believe the song at the end is by Aerosmith if I'm not mistaken.
Jason,
My techie showed this to me a few weeks ago and what an impression. I can't stop thinking about this absolute special man. Thank you for reminding us by way of this post.
How awesome, I had tears rolling down my face.
Marlene - Thank you for your continued support, Mr. Potts is as moving as they come...
Vicki - Each time I watch this clip, it has the same affect on little old me.
